Housing for Older People

We provide housing for many older people and have two types.
Self contained bungalows or flats – these are homes which are suitable for people over the age of 55 and which are fitted with emergency alarms. The alarm service is available 24 hours a day and is connected to a call centre. There is no warden service for these homes.
Schemes of 30 self-contained flats with a warden service – we have 3 such schemes in Fishguard, Aberystwyth and Cardigan. A warden lives at the scheme and when they are off-duty there is an emergency alarm system connected to a call centre. The aim of this service is to encourage independent living with the support a warden but we don’t provide nursing care. There are communal facilities such as a communal lounge and laundry and guest rooms and the wardens arrange social and cultural events for the residents.
